The WDT-01 is a watchdog timer module suitable for use with most PC mainboards.
While traditional watchdog timers are integrated directly into embedded computer circuitry and connected directly to the CPU, this module is intended to reset a standard PC mainboard via the front panel reset switch header.

The WDT-01 is useful for:
- mainboards that don't have a watchdog timer built in
- applications requiring extended redundancy that the built-in watchdog timer cannot provide
The unique, compact design of the WDT-01 permits it to be installed inside most computer chassis. The timer input can be triggered from most signal sources found in a modern computer—serial ports, parallel ports, and digital I/O pins—due to a wide input voltage range.
Three different timing configurations are available, one of which enables first-pulse-triggered timer activation to handle applications that might exhibit long boot times.
The WDT-01 is ideal for remote deployments where a system operator is not present to continuously monitor system activity. It provides the last line of defense against software failure and helps to ensure platform availability.
